Vesicovaginal Fistula (VVF) is a debilitating condition that affects millions of women worldwide, causing chronic leakage, shame, and social isolation. But there's hope!
Established in 2010, the VVF Centre at Bingham University Teaching Hospital has been a trailblazer in providing comprehensive care and support to women affected by VVF.
Meet Our Founders
Two remarkable individuals dared to dream of a world where women could live free from the shackles of VVF:
1. Dr. Sunday Lengmang: A compassionate family physician with a heart of gold, dedicating his life to restoring women's dignity.
2. Professor Laraba Pahm: A pioneering obstetrician and women's health advocate, igniting passion and change wherever she goes!
Our Mission
At the VVF Centre, we're dedicated to:
1. Life-changing surgeries: Our expert team performs intricate surgeries to repair fistulas.
2. Emotional healing: We provide counseling and support to help women overcome trauma and stigma.
3. Empowerment through skills: We offer vocational training in sewing, farming, entrepreneurship, and more.
4. Community transformation: Our team educates communities, breaking down barriers and promoting acceptance.
Achievements
Over the years, we've achieved remarkable success:
- Over 500 surgeries performed
- Thousands of women empowered through vocational training
- Countless lives transformed through counseling and support
